This abstract tapestry includes long and short tufting, including ‘negative’ dots which recede into the tufting, and the use of more watery and more solid colour. With the suggestion of a river and other geographical features, it works with repetition with variation. The theme of human migration is broadened out to include birds, which migrate long distances, subject to huge perils.
