I was contacted out of the blue by the Lime Tree Gallery in Fort William in the Scottish Highlands in February 2018. They wanted to show two of my tapestries, Kawa and The Face of the Earth.

I hadn’t heard of them, but a small amount of research showed that they were a fine example of a purpose-built gallery that exhibits a range of work, from paintings and prints to ceramics and tapestry. A bonus is that it overlooks the beautiful Loch Linnhe.

Kawa is the Japanese word for ‘river’ and The Face of the Earth is, unsurprisingly, about a rockface, so the two tapestries fit in with the local landscape and the theme of their summer show.
