A focus on darning was the spur for the creation of Only Connect. The open-weave of the ‘darning’ shows on the surface what is happening in a more hidden way in the fabric of the tapestry. This meta-weaving is repeated with variations, emphasising the many ways we can connect the woven materials or with each other.
